Profiles

A profile in KMuddy is meant to store character-related data - like aliases, triggers and more on a given MUD. For information on profile-based features, see the profile tab.

Profiles can be added, modified, duplicated or removed in the Connection menu item. Here you can set up profile preferences such as the server, port, auto-login and the option of directly connecting using this profile. You can also set commands to run immediately after logging in to a MUD. Please note that these commands will be sent exactly as you type them in - no command parsing will occur - so you cannot use speed-walking, scripts and so on. You can also temporarily disable sending of those commands (by checking "Do not send login sequence") - this is useful when you want to create a new character.

IMPORTANT: if you delete a profile, it's removed from your hard drive! You'll lose all your aliases/triggers/actions/script definitions! (you won't lose your external scripts themselves though, as they are separate from KMuddy).

The Duplicate button can be used to duplicate an existing profile. This allows you to reuse common aliases/triggers between profiles.

The Offline editing option allows you to edit your profile including all of your aliases/triggers/actions without actually being logged into your MUD, which is useful if you plan on making a lot of changes, or don't want to be bothered while working on your system.

Note: profiles are stored in your homedir, in the directory .kde/share/apps/kmuddy/profiles or .kde3/share/apps/kmuddy/profiles (depending on your distribution).
