Welcome to the homepage of KMuddy project. KMuddy
is a MUD client for KDE desktop environment.
It should work on any OS that can run KDE. This includes UNIX/Linux
systems and maybe some more...
Current version is 0.8, you can get it
here. You may also want to have
a look at some documentation.
Latest news about KMuddy can be found here.
The KMuddy forum is also available.
KMuddy is being developed on KDE version 3.x, I haven't
tested it with older versions, but you can give it a try...
Maybe you're asking: What is a MUD client good for?
Well, MUD means Multi-User Dungeon and it's a text-based
online multi-player role-playing (...) game. This means you'll
need some Internet connection (preferably one where you don't
pay for time spent online) and some time. But beware - MUDs
can become very addictive! So don't say you haven't been warned...
If you're interested, have a look at
www.mudconnector.com for a better description, MUD lists and
much more. You may also want to try some other
links...
Now something about the project itself. It was started in 2002,
because I wanted a MUD client for KDE and found none that would
suit my needs. Note: there are also other MUD clients for
KDE, namely Kmud, www.kmud.de,
and xpertmud,
xpertmud.sourceforge.net.
A list of both present and planned features can be found
somewhere here.
If everything goes well, KMuddy will once become a program that'll
satisfy everyone's needs (as long as he needs a good MUD client,
of course :)). In the mean-time, you can get the latest version
in the Download section.
